Carteret Community College is home to one of the top ranked culinary schools in North Carolina, known for giving their students every opportunity to excel and learn from highly decorated chefs around the world. As an Escoffier Chef, our very own Floyd Olmstead of Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant is proud to support local culinary students through this year’s Carteret Community College Escoffier Dinner Series.
The vision of the Society of Escoffier is to continue the standards of haute cuisine and culinary tradition established by August Escoffier by marrying the resources of respected culinary professionals and enthusiasts in the sharing of common culinary experiences, and also recognizing achievement in, and providing support of, culinary education through scholarships for students. This year, Carteret Community College culinary graduates and three local Escoffier Chefs, including Chef Floyd, will create a fantastic four course dinner to help send top culinary students to France.
Chef Floyd will host the first of three dinners in the series on January 19th at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. All proceeds from ticket sales will support the Carteret Community College’s culinary students and their future programs, where they will have the opportunity to learn from experienced and cultured chefs around the world. You may purchase a ticket to Chef Floyd’s four-course Escoffier Dinner for $60, or purchase tickets to the series of three for $150. You can purchase your tickets to this one-of-a-kind dinner here.

Each year on Thanksgiving Day, Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant feeds over 600 people, from tourists to locals to captains and crews just passing through the Crystal Coast. Our buffet-style Thanksgiving dinner is in high demand – in fact, we’ve already nearly sold out for indoor seats! But that doesn’t mean you won’t get to taste Chef Floyd’s delicious turkey and fixings.
Will you enjoy Floyd’s Thanksgiving Dinner from the Restaurant, Patio, or your own table?
We’re serving up all of your favorite Thanksgiving treats from 11-5 on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26th. Reservations may be full inside, but seats on our patio are first come, first serve. Our outdoor fire place and fully stocked bar will warm your bones, but if you’d rather enjoy Thanksgiving dinner from the comfort of your own home, we have a solution for you. Here’s what’s on the menu for Chef Floyd’s Thanksgiving Dinners To Go:
One 12-14 pound Roast Turkey or Cajun Fried Turkey
Grandma’s Deviled Eggs
Green Pea Salad
Garlic Green Beans
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Pumpkin or Pecan Pie
Take an entire dinner for 8-12 people home with you and slip into a Turkey coma on your own couch, all for just $220 plus tax. Does your family have a sweet tooth? Take your pick of an extra pecan, pumpkin, or peanut butter pie for an additional $15. Or, if you’re not hosting all the aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws at your place, you can opt for individual meals to go from our buffet. Chef Floyd and his dedicated culinary team work hard days in advance to plan the perfect, traditional Southern Thanksgiving for hundreds of guests every year, and everyone always leaves happy and full!
